Teacher aide arrested for battery against 6 children
MADISON, Ind. (WISH) — A 19-year-old woman faces low-level felony charges after she was accused of forcefully pushing and pulling six children, aged 3-5, at a Jefferson County elementary school, according to court documents.

lark, of Madison, worked as a teacher’s aide at the school in the Madison district. She was arrested on Tuesday, and has been charged with six counts of battery on a person younger than 14. She was booked in the Jefferson County jail and later released after paying a $5,000 cash bond.
Jefferson County Prosecutor shared a redacted probable cause document from Jefferson Superior Court, shared with News 8. The court document says the battery of the children happened between September and Feb. 27.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday said its investigation started on Feb. 28. Court documents say a witness had reported a day earlier that Clark became “physical” with two children at Ryker’s Ridge Elementary.
Days later, a Jefferson County sheriff’s detective took over the investigation, speaking with multiple witnesses, school administrators, and possible victims.
Clark’s initial hearing has been set for 9 a.m. April 7 in Jefferson Superior Court.
Statement
“On Friday, February 28, 2025, the district administration became aware of a situation involving an instructional support person who did not meet our expectations regarding the physical safety and care of children in our schools. The employee was immediately placed on administrative leave on February 28, 2025, and the individual was terminated on Monday, March 3, 2025. Families were notified of the situation and later updated regarding the termination. The Board of School Trustees took immediate and official action to approve the termination during the regular board meeting on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
“The situation was reported to the Department of Child Services on February 28, 2025, and law enforcement was notified through the system process. The district will continue to cooperate with law enforcement.
“Any questions should be directed to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.”
