EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A famous actress and Longmeadow native is being recognized at the annual JFK Awards Dinner on Saturday night. 22News was in Easthampton at the reception to see what this award means to our region.
Every year the Holyoke St. Patrick's Committee presents the JFK Nationa
l Award to someone who has made an impact on their community. This year that award will go to Bridget Moynahan. The actress, author and model moved to Longmeadow with her family when she was 7-years-old, then she later attended Longmeadow High.
She's played several roles in popular series and movies some you may even love like: Blue Bloods, John Wick… HBO's Sex and the City, and Coyote Ugly. She also serves as the spokeswoman for a non-profit that helps children with serious illnesses and serves as an ambassador for Global Citizens, an international organization dedicated to ending poverty.
"Truly honored! It was just so nice to get the call from the committee," expressed actress and 2025 JFK Award Recipient Bridget Moynahan. "It's nice coming back and reminiscing, and it always feels like home."
Moynahan went on to say that she's looking forward to celebrating her Irish roots all weekend long especially at the parade on Sunday.
Annually the John F. Kennedy National Award is presented to someone of Irish heritage. Many have said they're looking forward to hearing Bridget speak and celebrating their Irish roots with her.
