(Above: Ed Lenderman talks with San Diego Fire-Rescue Assistant Chief Dan Eddy on the fire response) SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Fire crews are responding to a fire that began in the Rancho Bernardo community of San Diego Wednesday morning. The fire caused evacuation orders and warnings in the areas surrounding it. As of 3:15 p.m., all evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted, according to officials. Road closures remain in effect on Camino Del Norte as of 3:15 p.m., the San Diego Police Department said on X/Twitter. Dubbed the "Center Fire," and sometimes referenced to as the "Bernardo Fire," the blaze was reported in the area of Bernardo Center Drive and Camino Del Norte, near Interstate 15. Homes were immediately threatened, according to emergency personnel. According to San Diego Fire-Rescue, the department received the initial call around 8:55 a.m. The first unit of firefighters arrived shortly after 9 a.m., SDFD said on its website. Forward spread was stopped at four acres around 11 a.m. In an update posted by SDFD at 1:25 p.m., authorities confirmed the fire burned a total of seven acres. Red Flag Warning extended for San Diego County mountains, valleys; school closures announced The areas that were under evacuation orders included neighborhoods from Dove Canyon Road to the west, Camino Del Norte to the north, I-15 to the east and Carmel Mountain Road to the south. Areas that were previously under an evacuation warning stretched as far south as Black Mountain Open Space Park, west and north bordered by Camino Del Sur, and east toward Dove Canyon Road. A temporary evacuation center was set up at 12080 Carmel Mountain Rd., the location of an At Home store and parking lot. At 10:11 a.m., the San Diego Police Department stated the following roads were closed to the public: I-15 at Camino Del Norte, Bernardo Center and Camino Del Norte, Paseo Montanoso at Avenida De Los Lobos and Camino Del Norte.
