Wed evening forecast – Jan 22, 2025
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We finally made some progress by exiting out of the freezer we’ve been trapped in. A 70 hour streak of subzero wind chills that started on Sunday concluded early Wednesday afternoon.
We’ll keep the warmup going into the back half of this week.
Wednesday night: Expect another very cold night with single digit wind chills, but actual air temperatures will not be as cold. Temperatures will fall to the teens overnight. The skies will be cloudy, and winds will be light.
Thursday: The warmup continues into our Thursday. Scattered snow showers are possible during the morning and afternoon hours. Some may get a very light dusting at most mainly north of Indy.
Highs look to rise into the mid to upper 20s. There will also be a breezy wind at times out of the west with some gusts over 20 MPH.
Friday: Temperatures are set to temporarily regress a little bit to end the workweek despite the expectation of mostly sunny skies. Highs will only get into the low to mid 20s.
7-Day Forecast: Warmer air will keep filling into our region for the final weekend of January with high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s. Saturday will be partly sunny, breezy, and mainly dry. There’s a very low chance for light rain/snow Sunday. The warmup doesn’t slow down into next week with potential for a return to the 40s.
