Funeral services scheduled for fallen Honolulu firefighter The first trial ended in a hung jury, as jurors were unable to reach a unanimous decision on Thompson's guilt. In addition to the criminal case, Tokuhara's mother has filed a civil lawsuit against Thompson and his wife, Joyce, seeking damages for the alleged murder.
