TSA detects 78 guns at Indianapolis International Airport INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Transportation Security Administration detected 78 firearms at the Indianapolis International Airport in 2024. TSA officials say that’s a significant decrease from the all-time high of 95 detected in 2023. The agency also detected more than 6,000 firearms nationwide in 2024. TSA officials want to remind you that you can travel with guns, but they must be secured in your checked bags, unloaded, and locked in a case. The firearm must also be declared to the airline when you check your bags at the ticket counter.
