VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- Two dogs were shot by Virginia Beach police on Wednesday during an incident that injured two juveniles, police said.
An officer responded to the Studio 4 Less on Military Highway around 1:30 p.m. in reference to a dog bite. An officer arrived on scene and was met with two dogs actively fighting. Due to the dogs' behavior, an officer deployed his taser as a less lethal tactic. When that failed, he deployed his gun, police said.
One dog succumbed to those injuries, the other was surrendered to Animal Control. Two juveniles were injured, one being bit in the arm while the other sustained minor injuries.
This occurred in the courtyard area away from the residents.
Both juveniles were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition. There are no charges at this time, this is an on going investigation by Animal Control.
