Collierville suspects crash into cars in getaway attempt

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Collierville Police say three shoplifiting suspects hit two police patrol cars and three civilian cars when they tried to make a getaway Friday.
The three suspects are in custody. Charges have not yet been determined.
Police responded around 2:45 p.m. to a report of shoplifters at a business at 275 New Byhalia Road. That address comes back as an Academy Sports location.
When police got there, they say the suspects attempted to flee, hitting a patrol car and two cars on the way out.
The suspects continued south on Byhalia at high speed, then crossed Poplar, struck a second Collierville patrol car, lost control and hit a third civilian vehicle.

One civilian was taken to a hospital with injuries police say were not severe. No officers were injured.
