AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Clouds and spotty showers kept temperatures mostly in the low 60s today with some 70s in the Hill Country.
Skies will clear this evening ahead of our strong cold front that arrives from north to south just after midnight.
This front will bring an initial temperature drop from the upper 50s at midnight down into the low 40s by daybreak Saturday, but abundant sunshine should allow temperatures to bounce back to near 60º in the afternoon despite a stiff north breeze.
