ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Three men have been accused of severely beating a man in Geneva — with one of these men being a suspect in a shooting near the public library.
Around 9:30 p.m. on December 31, officers said 28-year-old Tyler Liberatore, 32-year-old Jamie Downing, and 40-year-old Horace Betts seriously injured a victim on Seneca Street.
It was alleged that the three men attacked the victim and a baseball bat was used as a weapon during the assault. The victim had to be treated for a broken jaw and internal injuries.
Liberatore was arrested on January 14. Downing and Betts were arrested two days later. Liberatore was previously arrested for his alleged involvement in gunfire on Castle Street between Main Street and Dorchester Avenue. Liberatore, along with two other suspects, were accused of firing shots toward the library.
All three suspects have been charged with first-degree gang assault and second-degree assault. Betts and Downing are being held at the Ontario County Jail, where Liberatore was already being held without bail.
