Geauga Park District announced that an educational, inspirational and original hands-on program for the whole family awaits in “Otter Man Returns” on Jan. 25 at The West Woods Nature Center, 9465 Kinsman Road in Russell Township. From 2 to 3:30 p.m., Chief Naturalist John Kolar and Naturalist Dottie Drockton will focus the afternoon on River Otters and their amazing comeback story in Ohio, also touching on other members of the weasel family that live in the state, such as short-tailed weasels, minks and other fishers, according to a news release. Attendees can expect to handle pelts, skulls and other weasel artifacts; view animal mounts and an Ohio Weasel slideshow, as well as real trailcam footage captured in the parks; and play an otter game or two, as naturalists vividly tell the tale. “Otter Man first appeared at a weasel program over 20 years ago and has only appeared a couple times since then,” Kolar said in the release, “so it’s a real treat to see this half-man-half-otter up close and in person!” No registration is required.
