HONOLULU (KHON2) -- An ongoing major film production will close several roads in the Chinatown and Kakaako areas from Saturday, Jan. 18 to Sunday, Jan. 19. Lanikai parking restrictions in place until mid-March Officials advise all drivers to steer clear of the area and find alternate routes if possible. Maunakea Street between Beretania & Pauahi The road will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drivers should use Pauahi Street in the meantime, accessible through River Street, Bethel Street and Nuuanu Avenue. Maunakea Street between Pauahi & Hotel Crews will shift to a separate part of Maunakea Street from 2 p.m. to about 10 p.m. on Saturday. Officials said one lane will remain open with intermittent holds for traffic to access the remainder of Maunakea. "Pauahi Street will remain open to traverse the area, also with intermittent traffic holds." The road will also be closed on Sunday, Jan. 19 from 4 p.m. to around midnight. Only local traffic will be allowed through Maunakea at that time. Queen Street between Auahi & Ala Moana Officials said the road will be closed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to film a scene between the IBM Building and the Hokua condominium complex. Drivers cannot turn onto Queen Street from Ala Moana Boulevard and will be asked to use Auahi Street to access the mauka side of Queen Street. Intermittent traffic control will be conducted for one to three minutes at a time.
