Authorities pursued a large group of motorcyclists as they performed stunts at high speeds in Los Angeles County Thursday night. Two suspects were initially wanted for a traffic violation and refused to pull over, leading to a chase involving both air and ground units. The riders traveled at high speeds as the chase began shortly before 4 p.m. They weaved dangerously through freeway traffic, narrowly missing other drivers. One of the suspects reportedly tried to ram a motor officer with their bike at one point. A group of nearly 20 riders on dirt bikes joined the two suspects during the chase. Many waved to Sky5's chopper camera while performing street stunts. (KTLA)A group of nearly 20 riders on dirt bikes joined the two suspects during the chase. (KTLA) The male bikers were seen chatting with each other and texting on their phone while remaining at high speeds. They hit the 710 and 105 Freeways before exiting onto Imperial Highway and continuing on surface streets. At one point, a group of nearly 20 other riders on dirt bikes joined the two suspects during the chase. Most of the bikes were not street-legal and many riders were not wearing any helmets or protective gear. At times, they even waved to Sky5's camera overhead. They all stopped at a gas station to refuel before taking off again. Many were seen performing stunts and wheelies on the street as officers trailed them. The group eventually stopped below a freeway underpass after motor officers stopped following the riders. By 6 p.m., a California Highway Patrol helicopter continued circling overhead, searching for the two initial suspects. Authorities have not released information on any arrests or the bikers' identities. Full video of the pursuit can be seen in the video player above.
