SALISBURY, N.C. – Cheerwine, the South’s favorite cherry soda, and its hometown of Salisbury announce the annual Cheerwine Festival’s return on Saturday, May 17.
The iconic 108-year-old soft drink’s award-winning event will feature over five hours of live musical entertainment from local and regional acts, Cheerwine-inspired food and drinks, family-friendly activities, arts and crafts and more.
“We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Cheerwine’s birthplace for a day full of great entertainment, delicious food and family fun,” says Joy Ritchie Harper, vice president of marketing for Cheerwine and fifth-generation founding family member. “There’s nothing better than seeing our community come together, and we can’t wait to celebrate with old friends and new faces while sharing the unique charm and hospitality that makes Salisbury so special.”
Vendor applications for food, beverages and crafts are now open at cheerwinefest.com. Merchants have until February 7 to submit their applications to be part of this exciting event.
The musical lineup and other entertainment and event details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Since its inception in 2017 to celebrate the soda’s 100th anniversary, the Cheerwine Festival has become a significant event in Salisbury.
Last year’s Festival featured an enhanced footprint to accommodate the steadily growing attendance. The 2024 event welcomed over 100,000 guests and generated $6.3 million for Rowan County.
“Just like Cheerwine, with its one-of-a-kind flavor that’s as bold and spirited as our Salisbury-Rowan community, the Festival is a fun way to toast to our rich history while giving a fizzy boost to our cultural and economic growth,” says Mayor Pro Tem, Tamara Sheffield.
