      COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Monday morning, Jan. 13, Attorney General Alan Wilson released his annual Human Trafficking Report for South Carolina. Wilson says in 2024 SLED investigated 285 tips involving close to 400 potential victims with a majority of those being children. Officials say they investigated cases in 40 of the state’s 46 counties with the majority taking place in Richland and Charleston Counties. Additionally, there were 21 investigated cases in Lexington County. “I am grateful for the collective contributions of many in South Carolina’s anti-human trafficking efforts. Our state continues to be a model of how best to address this heinous crime,” said Attorney General Wilson. The Attorney’s General Office said the Task Force will launch a grant program in 2025 to develop a minimum of 3 programs for girls and 1 program for boys.
