NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) received federal approval to increase Medicaid rates for services provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Community: Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews heading out to fight California wildfires National: Jimmy Carter honored with state funeral in DC before Georgia burial The rate increases apply to three Medicaid Home and Community Based Services programs.  Developmental Disabilities Waiver.  Mi Via Waiver.  Medically Fragile Waiver.  “Increasing provider rates strengthens the workforce and helps to ensure members receive the quality health care services they need,” Dana Flannery, medicaid director stated in a news release. “These programs allow individuals to remain in their homes and communities, avoiding institutional care. Improved compensation is vital for maintaining a robust Home and Community Based Services workforce.”   Rate increases for the Developmental Disabilities and Medically Fragile Waivers will be retroactively effective to July 1, 2024.  Rate increases for the Mi Via Waiver will be retroactively effective to Oct. 1, 2024.
