AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Capital Metro announced it will offer rides to people seeking shelter during the cold weather. Individuals unable to pay will still be given a ride to their destination. The transportation provider said it will closely monitor severe weather on Wednesday and the rest of the week. Today's forecast "We're doing our part to help our community, especially during weather events that leave people vulnerable. No one will be denied service to a cold weather shelter on CapMetro services," CapMetro said in a press release. The City of Austin opened overnight cold weather shelters on Tuesday as temperatures began to drop into the 30s. CapMetro said people can stay informed about bus services by visiting its website.
