AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is mourning one of its own after the agency announced Wednesday a corrections officer died the day before.
WCSO said on social media Patricia "Patty" Jakubowski "suffered a medical episode" on Monday while she was working in the Williamson County Jail. Staff at the jail provided "immediate medical care," and Jakubowski was transported to Seton Williamson Hospital, the agency said.
"On December 10th, 2024, Corrections Officer Patty Jakubowski passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family," the social media post said.
According to WCSO, Jakubowski served with the agency for 17 years.
"Patty served in many roles with a quick smile, joyful attitude, and infectious laugh. Along with her family and friends, we grieve the loss of a dedicated friend and coworker," WCSO said.
