SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Two organizations are helping pass along the holiday spirit ahead of Thanksgiving.
Knife River of South Dakota and volunteers at Feeding South Dakotas filled cars with Thanksgiving items like turkey, stuffing, fresh potatoes and pumpkin pie. The giveaway started at 8 on Saturday morning.
"We're just out doing traffic control, making sure everyone knows where they're going, where to turn in, where to stop," Knife River of South Dakota president Clark Meyer said.

It's the 4th year Knife River's helped out with the event. Another giveaway happened on the western side of the state in Rapid City. Feeding South Dakota prepared 1,500 meals for both locations.
"We're just really glad to have a chance to get back to the community over the holiday season," Meyer said. "This is our opportunity to say thank you to your community and for our employees to participate and to give back."
