BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested two people and seized 85 pounds of meth after executing search warrants at an apartment and home in southwest Bakersfield. Officers with the Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking unit executed a search warrant at an apartment on Ashe Road, just south of Herb Way. Officials also obtained a warrant for a meth conversion lab at home at the intersection of Wible Rd. and Alum Ave. Prop 36 would bring big changes to courts in Kern County Between the both locations, detectives found 46 pounds of finished crystal meth and around 39 pounds of methamphetamine currently in a meth/liquid form, KCSO said through a release. The Nov. 8 search and seizure ended with Cristian Escutia, of Mexico City and Brandon Rancano-Franco, both 22 years-old, in police custody for operating the meth lab. Investigators later dismantled the large lab.
