ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – As the winter storm delivered inches of snow across Albuquerque, it also knocked out power to thousands of customers and caused car crashes. Now, the city is working on the problems as they prepare for another drop in temperatures Thursday night.  Weather Information Latest Weather Video Forecast Interactive Radar Weather Alerts Submit Photos, Videos The snowfall from Wednesday night and Thursday morning caused at least 21 traffic signals to go out and toppled dozens of trees. With more cold temperatures expected, the city is asking the public to be prepared. "We're reflecting on yesterday and preparing for tomorrow. So as anticipated this is definitely the last two nights and tonight is actually going to be much colder," said Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller.  The Albuquerque Police Department said they have received more than 100 reports of crashes related to the storm. Albuquerque Fire Rescue said they put their “Brush 3” truck into service last Saturday, responding to outside fires as people try to keep warm. That truck has already responded to more than 130 calls in the last 24 hours. AFR said they have also gotten more than 100 emergency calls related to electrical systems including downed power lines.  "This really is an unprecedented storm in the fact that it came so early and so heavily while leaves were still in the trees and that has caused limbs to become much heavier than they would normally be," said Jeffrey Buell, Manager of Corporate Communications for PNM.  The Albuquerque Community Safety Department said it has taken more than 50 people to shelters in the last six days. PNM said Wednesday more than 50,000 customers were without power in the metro and around Santa Fe but they have reduced that number to 35,000 as of Thursday afternoon. They urge people without power to prepare in case they can't restore power by Thursday night. APD and AFR warn residents that if they see a downed power line, to not go near it and be sure to report it.
