SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority said it will host a public meeting on proposed improvements to the transit hub at Kingston Station on Nov. 14. The meeting will take place at the Kingston Free Library at 6 p.m. RIPTA said that staff at the meeting will present “conceptual designs” for rider amenities and capital improvements to safety, accessibility, and capacity. “We invite all residents, businesses, and stakeholders to engage in this public meeting,” RIPTA Interim CEO Christopher Durand said. “Your insights on current transportation experiences—what is effective, what needs improvement, and what could enhance your travel experience—are invaluable to us. Together, we can create a more efficient, accessible, and sustainable transit system.” Resident who live or travel in south county can take a survey on the improvements and can send questions to [email protected].
