Colorado Springs Airport gives weather update
Nov 07, 2024
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Most flights are operating smoothly at the Colorado Springs Aiport (COS) despite the snowstorm that began on Tuesday, Nov. 5, causing widespread weather impacts throughout the city and across Southern Colorado.
"Most flights are operating smoothly, thanks to our snow crew’s hard work," wrote Dana Schield, Senior Public Communications Specialist at COS. "For long-lasting storms like this, our snow crew operates in 12-hour shifts until the storm passes."
According to Schield, the airport has been on snow alert since Tuesday afternoon and its crews have been on rotating shifts to ensure the airport operations run smoothly and will continue to do so until the snow stops.
"As always, we encourage travelers to check their flight status with their airline directly before heading to the airport," Schield wrote.
For Thursday, Nov. 7 as of noon, only six flights have been delayed and there have been no cancelations. To check the status of your flight, visit coloradosprings.gov/flycos/flight-status.
