Suspect wanted by DC police for fatal shooting arrested after 5 months

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A man who was wanted for his involvement in a fatal shooting back in May was arrested on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said.
Officers responded to the shooting in the 4800 block of Alabama Avenue SE at about 10:45 p.m. on May 22, 2024. There, they found 35-year-old William Spriggs of Northwest D.C. suffering from gunshot injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Over five months after the fatal shooting, 42-year-old Darvin Banks of Southeast D.C. was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated).
