(KRON) -- The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) arrested a 35-year-old Santa Rosa man for allegedly robbing a gas station with a loaded “ghost gun."
SRPD said it received reports at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday that a masked man in a dark hoodie with a handgun had just robbed a gas station in the 200 block of Dutton Avenue
When officers arrived at scene, they learned the employee put an “undisclosed amount of money into a bag” after the suspect had placed a handgun, wrapped in a bandana, near her by the cash register.

Investigators said the suspect fled the scene on a bike, heading east on the Joe Rodota Trail.
Police said they later located the suspect in different clothing in the area of Wilson Avenue and 5th Street and his bike on the Prince Memorial Greenway under the 3rd Street Bridge. Officers said they discovered “discarded clothing, a mask, the bag of money from the gas station, and a handgun on the PMG under the Pierson Street Bridge.”
SRPD said the 'ghost gun' used in this robbery was an "unserialized 9mm firearm loaded with 27 rounds of ammunition in an extended magazine and one round in the chamber."
Officials said Juan Carlos Lopez, 35, of Santa Rosa was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail for charges, including armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and violation of post-release community supervision.
