Over 1.7M early Massachusetts ballots cast ahead of Election Day

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - More than 1.7 million voters took advantage of early voting in Massachusetts as Election Day kicks off.
Before the polls opened on Tuesday, 33.8% of registered voters cast their ballots. The Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts reported, 1,143,419 voted by mail and 597,029 people voted at their polling place early, totaling 1,740,448. Of the mail-in ballots, 82.7% were returned.
