OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) – A blistering attack was launched Wednesday against Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price. Former Alameda County DA Nancy O’Malley announced she is supporting a recall against Price.  O’Malley called Price a liar and unqualified and accused her of making the community dangerous.   O’Malley was the DA for eight years and worked in the DA’s office for nearly four decades. She says that she’s speaking up now with the election just 13 days away after recent attacks by Price against O’Malley’s administration.  GoFundMe started for prominent Oakland family’s home damaged from Keller Fire Price has recently said that O’Malley’s office had a large backlog of domestic violence cases that had to be dropped because they passed deadlines. O’Malley says that is not accurate and her office never dropped cases.  O’Malley further said that her office created a lot of programs – restorative justice and victims’ rights programs that Price’s office has dropped.   The former DA says that Price and her administration have fought for more of the rights of those accused of crimes than victims and their families.  “We have California constitutional rights for those who are accused. We also have constitutional rights for victims of crime. Under Pamela Price’s regime, she ignores the rights of victims, and this is one of the most heartbreaking parts of her being the district attorney. She’s used this office improperly. She uses it to intimidate. Of course, she takes any chance to criticize me erroneously,” O’Malley said.   The two continued to go back and forth throughout Wednesday. At a news conference, Price linked O’Malley to a prosecutorial misconduct scandal, saying prosecutors purposely kept Black and Jewish people off death penalty juries.  O’Malley shot back, saying:  “These false or misleading allegations by Pam Price demonstrate my point that Price is unqualified to hold public office.   Price is dishonest. She manufactures cocktails of misinformation that deliberately mix falsehoods with a dash of data with the intent to deceive.  Pamela will pay a price for her deceptions on election day.” Price responded to that by alleging O’Malley donated to “MAGA-supporting, Trump-loving Republican Greg Ahern” for Alameda County Sheriff.
