FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) is investigating a shooting in the 6000 block of Waycross Drive, according to dispatchers.
The shooting happened just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Around 11:40 p.m., FWPD emailed WANE 15 to say the man had died from his injuries.
The man was injured and taken to a hospital and initially reported to have life-threatening injuries, according to FWPD.
Detectives are investigating and talking to neighbors in the area; some residents told WANE 15 they heard five shots.
