FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A sergeant with the Fresno Police Department has been arrested, the Fresno Police Department said on Wednesday. Officers say they were notified by the Roseville Police Department that a felony warrant had been issued for the arrest of 56-year-old Paige McQuay. According to police, McQuay was taken into custody and booked into the Fresno County Jail under suspicion of attempting a lewd act upon a child and communicating with a minor intending to commit an unlawful offense. The Fresno Police Department states the sergeant has been with them since December 1993. He has since been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation. The investigation was initiated and conducted by the Roseville Police Department; the Fresno Police Department says they are assisting with the investigation.
