COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Slammies on High has been closed since June and recently announced it will not reopen. In a social media post, the bar and pizza place announced it has decided to consolidate its two locations and sell the branch near Ohio State's campus. Slammies on High said the new owners will reopen under their own name, Jac & Do's. "We wish them the most success," the post read. "We hope to continue serving our fantastic customers at Slammers, we love you all and hope you have a fantastic school year." 1970s fish and chips chain to relaunch Ohio eatery Randy Sokol, the realtor who sold the property, told NBC4 that the owner moved to another city and did not want to run the business from there. Sokol said the location was not up for sale for long due to the popularity of campus locations. He said it was shown several times and put into contract within a month on the market. Jac & Do's is an Ohio pizza chain that sells pizzas, subs and wings. This is the third pizza shop in the location, with Aracri Pizzeria operating in the building before Slammies. Slammies on High opened in early 2023 with the intent to make all visitors feel safe and welcome. The LGBTQ+ bar and pizza shop closed until further notice shortly after it celebrated Pride Week in early June. Slammies was the second location of Slammers, which opened in 1993 and remains open after Slammies' closure. Slammers is one of just 32 remaining lesbian bars in the U.S., according to the Lesbian Bar Project, and is Ohio's only lesbian bar.
