KCPD investigating double homicide in northeast Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is on the scene of a double homicide Wednesday night in the northeast part of the city.
According to KCPD, around 7:15 p.m. police dispatch received multiple calls of sound of shots in the area of Maple Boulevard and Lexington Avenue near Maple Park. The call was later upgraded to a shooting call.

One reporting party said they saw two people in the roadway.
When KCPD officers arrived on scene they found both male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Family of the victims tell FOX4 one victim is a 15-year-old and the other is a 22-year-old.

Detectives are working to speak with any witnesses to try and learn what may have led to the shooting.
