ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque hosted a celebration on Saturday, honoring the 40th anniversary of the Open Space Division. Digital passes to White Sands National Park now available The event was hosted at the Open Space Visitors Center; those who attended could enjoy live music, family activities, and informational activities led by open space staff. Those with the division said it was a chance to look back at a job well done but also to be excited about the future and ways to continue improving. "Our slogan this year is celebrating Albuquerque's public land legacy, an amazing legacy, that we should all be proud of. We have over 30,000 acres that we manage now thanks to our public officials and citizens for the past 40 years who have fought really hard to protect these places," said Open Space Superintendent Colleen McRoberts. The event also featured giveaways and a short film on the history of the open space. Food hall and venue opens in Rio Rancho Officials said if you missed the event, you can still celebrate the open space by visiting!
