NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department is investigating the cause of a three-alarm fire in the Bywater area that happened Wednesday, Sept. 11. According to firefighters, they were called to the scene at the corner of Piety and Dauphine Streets around 1:04 p.m. Photos: Southeast Louisiana prepares for impact of Hurricane Francine Responders said they arrived at 1:10 p.m. to find flames coming through the roof of the building. An inspection of the building led to the incident commander pulling fire personnel out of the building due to the fire, weather conditions as a result of the oncoming Hurricane Francine and possible compromise of the building. Jefferson Parish officials call for water conservation A total of 25 NOFD units carrying 62 personnel were able to bring the fire under control by 3:21 p.m. There were no injuries reported from personnel or the public. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
