COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Saturday, October 3, a dedication ceremony and open house will be held for the new Jeffrey V. Chavis Fire Station. The community is invited to attend the 9 a.m. ceremony, followed by an open house off North Lake Drive. Just last week, Lexington County leaders held an offi cial ribbon-cutting in honor of Firefighter Chavis who died from fighting a residential structure fire in 2001.
