LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 29)–A combination of a storm system and what will be remnants of Hurricane Polo off the Pacific Ocean will move northeast into eastern Nebraska the next couple of days and likely produce enough rain, that a flooding threat is in place. Meteorolog ist Dirk Petersen at the National Weather Service in Valley tells KFOR News eastern Nebraska is on track to get three to three-and-a-half inches of rain. A flood watch is in effect from 7pm Tuesday until 7pm Thursday.  Here are a few things forecasters are looking at over the next 48-hour period. -Tropical moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Polo will result in multiple rounds of heavy rain. -Rainfall totals of 2-4 inches likely, with pockets of 5-6+ inches possible in the watch area. -The combination of wet ground with repeated rounds of heavy rain may lead to significant rises on area rivers and the potential for flash flooding.
