INDEPENDENCE mdash; One person is dead and another is injured following an overnight drive-by shooting in the Town of Independence, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.nbsp;The shooting occured in the 200 block of Highway 40 between I-55 and Old Highway 51.The sheriff's office said that one male was killed in the shooting while another was injured. The injured male is expected to survive.nbsp;Officials said the shooting stemmed from a late-night gathering in the area.The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is expected to share additional information on the shooting alongside the Independence Police Department.nbsp;The shooting remains under investigation.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
