You might notice a new bottle of milk in Texas grocery stores. The special bottle from Volleman’s Dairy should be easy to spot — it features a colorful floral pattern on one of the dairy’s iconic glass bottles. The limited edition bottle was designed by a 7-year-old named Octavia, who wo n the dairy’s annual bottle design contest. Each year, Volleman’s Family Farm invites patients at Children’s Health to submit original artwork for the chance to have their design featured on one of the dairy’s glass bottles. Octavia and her family present a check for $3,500 to The Children’s Health Foundation. The money came from the proceeds of the sale of a milk bottle designed by the 7-year-old. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the milk bottles will support The Children’s Medical Center Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of children and families. So far this year, it’s added up to $3,500. In addition to winning the contest, Octavia and her family were treated to a visit to Volleman’s Family Farm in Gustine, Comanche County.
