Trustworthy leadership
Sep 09, 2026
I am supporting Malena Stevens for Summit County clerk because I have seen how she shows up in her community, her work, and her day-to-day life.
Our kids have grown up together. Over the years, I have seen Malena consistently devote her time to serving our community, often with her son right a
longside her.
Malena joined the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission when he was still a baby. More than most kids, he has spent his time attending events, listening to conversations, and seeing what it means to be involved in a community.
Malena includes her son in the world of civic service in a meaningful way. She listens to his concerns, takes his perspective seriously, and helps him understand how decisions are made. On playgrounds and trails, or while recycling or pulling noxious weeds, she engages with him in a way that also reflects how she engages with the public.
Malena invites people into the process. She genuinely seeks to understand their perspective and takes the time to really listen, regardless of age or background.
Furthermore, Malena brings the experience and competence critical for the county clerk position. She has spent nearly 15 years working in and alongside the government, and she understands how these systems function. This is a role that demands a thorough knowledge of the ins and outs of our government to ensure efficiency and integrity in our elections.
Malena knows the job, is doing the job, and approaches it in a way that is collaborative, transparent, and professional.
I’m proud to support Malena Stevens as Summit County clerk!
