BATON ROUGE, La.nbsp;mdash; Football season is back, and in Louisiana, game day is about more than what happens between the whistles. For the fourth episode ofnbsp;Positively BR, wersquo;re kicking off the season with a look at what to wear, where to explore and what to sip along the way. From the st
adium to the couch, therersquo;s no shortage of ways to show off your team spirit.Angelica Butine sat down with Abby Bullock, owner of Wanderlust by Abby on Perkins Road, to break down this seasonrsquo;s game day fashion trends. One unexpected accessory?nbsp;Bows on boots.Bullock showed how tying a bow around the loop of a boot can take a simple game day outfit from basic to boutique-worthy.And when it comes to Louisiana fashion, some things never go out of style mdash; includingnbsp;sequins.Bullock also displayed how matching sets are making a comeback, with a twist. By mixing and matching pieces, you can create multiple game day looks instead of wearing the set exactly as it came. But you donrsquo;t have to leave the house to participate in game day fashion.Sometimes, the best seat in the house is the couch, especially when yoursquo;re wearing a pair of LSU pajamas. Then, Positively BR heads outside for this weekrsquo;snbsp; One Tank Trip.Just a short drive from Baton Rouge, nbsp;Tickfaw State Parknbsp;offers a chance to slow down and explore Louisianarsquo;s wild side.Tickfaw State Park, a 1,200-acre Louisiana state park tucked away in Springfield, has been welcoming visitors since 1999.From overnight stays and bird watching to walking the trails, the park gives visitors plenty of ways to get outside without traveling far from home. Whether yoursquo;re looking for a weekend escape or just a few hours surrounded by nature, Tickfaw State Park proves you donrsquo;t have to go far to find something worth exploring."We are the closest park to Baton Rouge, and we're tucked back deep in Springfield," Park Manager Gabrielle Nixon said.nbsp; One of the most popular ways to explore the park is from the water. The park rents out canoes while a third-party vendor offers kayak rentals and tours."It brings you out into the Tickfaw River, and you can really spend the entire day out on the river, come back and paddle back up your canoes or your own boats and head out," Nixon said.nbsp;Back on land, more than six miles of boardwalks and trails take visitors through trees, swamps and forests.September is National Coffee Month, and Positively BR is celebrating with a stop at a Baton Rouge coffee shop putting its own local spin on the daily cup.We spoke with the owner of Cherry Bomb about coffee, community and what makes the Baton Rouge spot stand out.Because sometimes, a good cup of coffee comes with an even better conversation. And finally, wersquo;re turning the cameras around.Positively BR sits down with Abigail Whitam from WBRZrsquo;snbsp;2une Innbsp;morning show to talk about what really happens behind the scenes of live television. From unpredictable live shots to the bloopers that never make it to the polished version of the show, Whitam gives viewers a look at the lighter side of waking up Baton Rouge. This weekrsquo;s Positively BR has a little bit of everything: game day style, outdoor adventure, local coffee and plenty of laughs.Catch the fourth episode of Positively BR and find something good happening around Baton Rouge. We'd love it if you subscribed to this new program either through YouTubenbsp;or Spotify.nbsp; It'll premiere each Friday at noon!nbsp;nbsp;Permalink| Comments
