ALBANY, Ind. (WRTV) Search crews on Saturday recovered the body of an 18-year-old from the Mississinewa River, concluding a search that began Wednesday.Severe weather has been connected to at least four deaths this week in Indi ana.The search started Wednesday evening after reports of four people in the flooded river near County Road 450 East and Gregory Road, halfway between the towns of Albany and Eaton.Matthew Morey, a Delta High School graduate who planned to attend Purdue University, disappeared Wednesday evening after he and three others entered the river. While the other three individuals reached safety, Morey was swept away. The Delaware County Sheriffs Office coordinated a search using boats, drones, aircraft and dogs, though high water and swift currents slowed the effort.Near Yorktown, deputies on Friday found the body of a 58-year-old woman in a cornfield along South Bell Creek Road. Investigators believe her vehicle was swept off the road by floodwaters that reached more than 3 feet deep Thursday. The woman likely died after she exited the car to escape the current. A dog was also found dead in the vehicle. Emergency crews had rescued another driver from the same location just a day earlier.The two deaths in Delaware County follow two other weather-related fatalities earlier in the week. On Tuesday, a 4-year-old boy died in Jennings County when a storm toppled a tree onto a home.In Portage, authorities were investigating whether severe weather triggered a house explosion that killed one person.
