(CNN)– A federal consumer agency is demanding millions of personal emergency room records from hospitals across the country. The consumer product safety commission wants at least 100 hospitals to hand over sensitive patient data to a private contractor by the end of the year. That’s according to documents and emails seen by KFF Health News. The CPCS is usually tasked with tracking and recalling dangerous products.
