INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A Marion County judge has granted an order for protection after finding repeated acts of harassment had occurred in a case involving a former Circle City Broadcasting employee. Court records show Marion Superior Court 12 issued the order following a July 23 hearing . The order remains in effect through July 23, 2027. The court identified Circle City Broadcasting owner and CEO DuJuan McCoy as the petitioner and former employee Dylan Lee Hodges as the respondent. In its findings, the court determined Hodges “represents a credible threat to the safety of the petitioner” and that repeated acts of harassment had occurred sufficient to justify issuing the order. According to the petition filed by McCoy, the alleged harassment included social media posts, emails and text messages over multiple incidents. The petition alleges Hodges posted comments on social media about McCoy and Circle City Broadcasting, sent an email to a company-wide employee distribution list and sent text messages to Circle City Broadcasting employees. The order prohibits Hodges from harassing, contacting or communicating with McCoy, either directly or indirectly, which includes through third parties or any current employee of Circle City Broadcasting. It also requires him to stay away from McCoy’s residence and place of employment. Violation of an order for protection may be punishable by confinement in jail or prison and/or a fine. McCoy also added that he has referred the matter to the Indianapolis Police Department for prosecutorial review and has the option to petition the courts to extend the order prior to its expiration date of July 23, 2027. “This is a prime example that malicious attacks and falsehoods across online, digital, social media and electronic platforms have consequences. Now is the time to foster a culture of accountability, integrity and respect in the digital space and ensure that bad actors are no longer allowed to operate without repercussions,” McCoy said.
