Target is recalling more than 200,000 pairs of a popular Cat Jack children’s sandal, with the Consumer Product Safety Commission saying the shoe’s decorative pearls could fall off and lead to “serious injury or death” from choking. The recall, issued Thursday, impacts Cat Jack-branded c hildren’s sandals that are tan in color. The sandals have two raffia straps with gold buckles and plastic pearls, the announcement said, with the Cat Jack brand is printed on the shoe’s sole and bottom. The sandals were sold online and in Target stores from January 2026 through May 2026 for about $22, in sizes 5T through 12T, the CPSC said. About 211,000 pairs were recalled. “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled sandals, take them away from children and contact Target for a full refund,” a recall notice on Target’s website said. “Consumers will be asked to return the sandals to any store or use a prepaid label to return the sandals by mail.” According to the CPSC, Target has received 23 reports of the shoe’s pearls falling off.
