KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — A man riding an electric scooter was hit by a car and later died on Friday according to the Indiana State Police. Brisjonta Richmond, 21, was struck by a car in Kokomo and later died due to his injuries while he was riding an electric scooter around 5:30 a.m. on Fri day. In a press release by ISP, officers say that an ISP trooper came across the scene while on a routine patrol. Life-saving measures were performed at the scene of the accident, and Richmond was airlifted to the hospital where he later died due to his injuries. The driver of the car, 51-year-old Tracy Turner, was not injured. Officers say that Richmond was wearing dark, non-reflective clothes and that his electric scooter was not street legal.
