When officers visited their home on March 30, the day she was reported missing, Works was not cooperative and did not show concern about his mom's disappearance, according to the police report. Police got a search warrant and returned to their home in the 10700 block of South Lafayette Avenue Tuesday morning. While searching the basement, the officers noticed a bookshelf blocking a door to a room, according to the police report. The officers moved the bookshelf and, inside the room, they allegedly found Graves' body wrapped in rugs and plastic bags, according to the report.She was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Works was arrested at the home. An autopsy found Graves suffered blunt force trauma and ruled her death a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.Neighbors told the Sun-Times Graves was a "real nice lady" who rarely left her home.
