Following a month-long search, Park City High School announced the appointment of Dennis Cunningham as the new head coach of the Miners football program.
“The selection committee evaluated a deep pool of candidates, but coach Cunningham ultimately stood out for
his unwavering commitment to the student-athlete experience,” the school said in a press release. “His vision for the program is rooted in a positive team culture, rigorous hard work and personal accountability. Above all, coach Cunningham is dedicated to guiding young men to become the best versions of themselves, both on the field and as leaders within the community.”
Principal Caleb Fine said the school is thrilled to have Cunningham lead the school’s football program into its next chapter.
“His passion for the game is matched only by his dedication to the character development of our students,” Fine said. “Because he has been an integral part of (Park City High School) football and athletics for the past four seasons, he is uniquely positioned to step into this role immediately and maintain the momentum our athletes have built.”
The school said that coach Cunningham brings “a wealth of elite-level experience to the helm.” He earned a state championship title during his senior year of high school before going on to play four years of collegiate football at Utah State University.
Additionally, the school will hold a meet and greet with Cunningham 7 p.m. Monday evening at the school’s lecture hall. Coach Cunningham will introduce himself, and the school will give a detailed review of the upcoming spring and summer football schedules. All interested players and their families are invited.
“We encourage all prospective players to attend as we begin this exciting new era of Miner Football,” the school said.
