Alysa Liu spotted at Loard’s in Alameda
Mar 20, 2026
(KRON) -- Alysa Liu must like the island life. While the gold medal-winning Olympic figure skater has been outspoken about supporting her hometown of Oakland -- where she was honored last week -- she also has a tendency to pop up across the estuary in Alameda.
A few weeks ago, fresh off her success
winning two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, she was spotted dining out at Alameda Italian restaurant, Trabocco. This week, she was again spotted on the island, at Loard's Ice Cream, just across the South Shore Center from Trabocco.

The Alameda Police Department shared a photo to its Instagram of Liu posing with one of its officers, who is apparently the dad of one of the Olympians best friends.
"To the world, Alysa Liu is a gold-winning figure skater who continues to amaze with her performances on the ice. But to one of our APD officers, she's more like family," the post read. "Officer Kwok, father to one of Alysa's best friends, couldn't be prouder of everything she's accomplished. So when Alysa and his daughter stopped for a sweet treat in his patrol beat, he made sure to drop in to personally congratulate her in person."
The photo showed a smiling Officer Kwok alongside an equally beaming Liu.
"Congrats, Alysa! Keep making the Bay proud," the post read.

Since being posted on Wednesday, APD's post has racked up over 7,900 likes, making it by far the best-performing post on Alameda PD's Instagram for some time -- if not ever.
If Liu is an ice cream fan, she's also got a standing offer for free ice cream for life, back across the estuary at Fentons Creamery in Oakland. But for Bay Area residents, the question is, where will she pop up next?
