New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill addressed the Garden State on Wednesday afternoon and announced new efforts to protect residents from potential misconduct by federal agents. Gov. Sherrill was joined by Acting Attorney General Jennifer Davenport and Acting Human Services Commissioner Dr. Stephen C ha on Feb. 11 for the announcement. Sherrill said. “Given ICE’s willingness to flout the Constitution and violently endanger communities – detaining children, arresting citizens, and even killing several innocent civilians – I will stand up for New Jerseyans right to be safe.” The governor shared information about a new portal where New Jersey residents can report incidents involving federal agents that happen in the state.
