On Friday, Feb.6, 2026, officers responded to a report of a dog on the loose at the 300 block of Rosemont Place. When they arrived, they were told that the dog was attacked by two pit bulls nearby. According to the police, the officers had the injured dog taken to an animal hospital, where it is expected to survive. A video of the attack was shared on social media and also forwarded to the Atlantic City Police Department, police said. As police investigated the attack, they got a report of a deceased dog at the 1500 block of Baltic Avenue, police said. An investigation found that 22-year-old Aarin Burdine-Moody, owned both the dead dog on Baltic Avenue, and the dog injured in the attack. Police said he left the both outside in the cold since Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026. Burdine-Moody faces three counts of animal cruelty and related charges, police said. He remains wanted and is being sought by police. The owner of the two dogs who attacked Aarin Burdine-Moody’s dog, 56-year-old Clarance Gilliard, was also charged with animal cruelty because he stood by as his pit bulls attacked the other dog, police said.
