Lincoln Firefighters are checking for any hotspots from a house fire Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026 at a home off of 30th and Dudley. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Feb. 5)–A house fire in central Lincoln just before 9am Thursday left behind considerable damage and sent one person to the hospital, officials said. Lincoln Fire and Rescue public information officer MJ Lierman told KFOR News at the scene it was around 8:50am when fire crews were dispatched to a home on the northeast corner of 30th and Dudley, not far from UNL’s East Campus, about the fire.  Crews found smoke and flames coming from the back side of the home and declared it a working incident. Lierman said it was 20 minutes after arrival that LFR crews got the fire under control, but were still putting out some hot spots.  She says the fire extended from the basement up to the attic space.  One person was taken to the hospital, but their condition was unknown and it may have been for precautionary reasons, according to Lierman.
